A MODERS DREAM
TL;DR: the large pick guard, swimming pool route, and cheep price makes it an amazing modding platform for everyone form beginners to veterans. I don't know if mine was just defective but I always hatted the bridge pick up but loved the neck. The neck is very full and round with nice low and while the bridge just sounded weak. I've tried other guitars with the same HH set up and the bridge was always blown out the water even by guitars in its price range. However the neck was always able to hold its own especially considering the price. I simply taped down the switch and searched for other guitars to soon takes its place. But then I was gifted a parts caster tele. Over all the thing was kinda crummy construction and some who wired in a way that the middle position would leave the the bridge or the neck on (depending on how you wired them) and the neck and bridge would basically be a kill switch. I decided to leave it to the bridge a have those two guitars until I finally decided to take the plunge and add the tele pick up to my Jazzmaster. With the swimming pool rout and large pick guard the hardest part of my first ever mod was trying to find my dads soldering iron. Now this guitar is my number one, ride or die, house fire grab, dessert island guitar. If I was gifted a $50,000+ guitar it would still play second fiddle to this one. Guitar you have a hand in shaping will always be priceless.
PhotoGenic ST-180 Electric Guitar
Its a Strat.
It's a Strat copy. If you get a good deal on it (like under 100) go ahead but if there's a Squire Strat you can get instead go for that.
This Guitar Gave Me Stockholm Syndrome
This is my first ever guitar that I got when I was really young and it was the reason I first quit playing. Although it is a shorter scale the body is still huge, the fretboard it just flat, and neck it the thickest I ever felt. Action is great and it stays tune but my 9-12 year old hands could not handle it. However I never threw it away. When I reached high school Jack White became one of my idols and I decided to pick it up again. All of its flaws made think of the flaws in Airline guitar and made me want to play more. The more I played the more I fell in love with it. So overall it is an objectively mid guitar at best but I absolutely love mine.
