Sunn Amplification’s comeback continues apace with the US bass and guitar amp brand confirming that there’s another new take on a classic design on the way and it’ll take the shape of the rack-mounted Beta PL-20 preamp – a preamp unit that is for many players a repository of holy grail electric guitar tone. Among them is Buzz Osborne of the Melvins, who has long incorporated them and Beta Lead heads in his live and studio setups. The Tetrax Organ follows a series of electronic instruments based on touch. It is a direct development of the Tetrazzi. By pressing the four wooden boards, sounds can be coaxed from the same number of oscillators. Each individual oscillator is equipped with a slider for fine tuning, which is embedded in the respective board. The instrument is equipped with two master pitch and two master chaos controls. The latter allow the sounds of the instrument, which are based on pure sawtooth waves, to turn into a nest of noise by amplifying the modulation from one oscillator to the next in a circular sequence. The reason for the two different controls being present in duplicate: The Tetrax is primarily about modulating the timbre by separately changing the rising and falling edges of triangular waves. There is therefore a control for the master pitch and master chaos, one for the rising and the falling part. Basically, the Tetrax is designed for funky bass and complex tonality, the Sidrax Organ for sweet melodies. Of course, both have noise available at all times!

Its 28 banana cable sockets are modulation points arranged in four columns - one for each wooden board. Their position is shifted diagonally so that the inputs are placed close to the outputs. This is to make it playable by touch: you can remove the metal pins from banana plugs, insert them into the sockets and touch them directly with your fingers to patch the instrument gesturally. Sockets with the cold colors blue, green and gray are inputs. Outputs are the warm colors: red and orange. The gray sockets are inputs for the rotary controls: the two left-hand sockets vary the master pitch, the right-hand ones the position of the master chaos controls. The color assignment of the individual wooden boards is as follows:

Two orange sockets output the pressing and releasing of the respective board.

A red socket outputs the pure triangular wave of the respective oscillator.

The two green sockets on each board are "glitch" inputs. These ensure that connections are made between the boundary conditions of one oscillator and the output of another. A type of modulation inspired by circuit bending techniques.

A blue socket is used to frequency modulate each individual oscillator.

On the back of the Tetrax Organ there is a minijack socket that outputs the audio signal in stereo: During a press-release cycle, each of the wooden boards outputs the corresponding audio signal on different channels. In addition to this audio output, the Tetrax Organ has a power switch, optionally built-in batteries or a clip for a 9-volt block.

The Audible Disease Infection IN-3 is a wild joystick controlled two oscillator synthesizer guaranteed to please any noise head! There's more to it than that, though. You can process the synth sound even further with the other knobs giving you a virtual cornucopia of noise making pleasure center. Twiddle the knobs and stick, please. Operates with a standard 9-volt DC barrel type power adapter sold separately.
