HP Omen 17 (2023) review: Uncompromising performance | PCWorld

pcworld.com

An impressive powerhouse for gamers, the HP Omen 17 excels with top-tier performance, boasting an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 and Intel Core i9-13900HX. However, it struggles with heat management, a mediocre camera, and a disappointing battery life under three hours, making it less portable than its peers. While the design showcases a robust aesthetic, minor flaws like a wobbly lid and poor cable management might deter some users. Overall, it delivers outstanding gaming capabilities but comes with caveats that may leave potential buyers weighing their options.

HP Omen 17 review: “gets the job done” | GamesRadar+

gamesradar.com

The HP Omen 17 is a solid performer with its RTX 4070 and Ryzen 7 combo, delivering impressive gaming capabilities. However, its bland design, cheap materials, and subpar keyboard detract from an otherwise functional experience. While the colorful display and decent battery life are notable highlights, the lack of USB-C ports and a bright screen keeps it from being a standout in its category. In short, this laptop does the job but lacks the flair and quality expected at its price point.

HP Omen 17 (2024) review: RTX 4070 and Ryzen 7 show their size in the gaming laptop - NotebookCheck.net Reviews

notebookcheck.net

The HP Omen 17 (2024) offers solid gaming performance with its RTX 4070 and Ryzen 7 combo, delivering a smooth experience at a reasonable price. The cooling system impressively maintains a quiet operation even under load. However, it suffers from several compromises: its heavy and bulky design makes it less portable, the display has subpar contrast levels, and the lack of diverse, speedy connectivity options is disappointing. The keyboard and webcam are also underwhelming, and while the battery life is decent, it could be better. Ultimately, the Omen 17 excels in gaming but falls short as an all-around laptop.

HP Omen 17 (2023) review: Gaming laptop uses RTX 4080 - NotebookCheck.net Reviews

notebookcheck.net

The HP Omen 17 (2023) delivers solid performance with its powerful Core i9 and RTX 4080 setup, ideal for gaming and demanding tasks. However, it struggles with high noise levels during operation and underwhelms in battery life, particularly in GPU-heavy scenarios. The display offers good quality but falls short compared to competitors, and the high price may deter some buyers. While it has its strengths, including upgradability and decent cooling, potential buyers should weigh these drawbacks carefully against alternatives like the Lenovo Legion Pro 7, which offers better performance and brightness.

HP Omen 17 Review

well-played.com.au

The HP Omen 17 delivers solid gaming performance and an impressive display, but it's marred by excessive bloatware and a disappointing keyboard. While it boasts strong specs and good thermal management, the overwhelming pre-installed software, including the notorious McAfee, detracts significantly from the user experience. The keyboard's mushiness may not appeal to everyone, forcing some users to seek alternatives. Ultimately, the Omen 17 is a capable machine that shines in gaming and productivity, but its flaws prevent it from being a slam dunk. If you're willing to uninstall the clutter and adapt to the keyboard, it might just be worth the investment.

HP Omen 17 (2023) review – Big, blockbuster performance

gameshub.com

The HP Omen 17 is a powerful gaming laptop that delivers stellar performance and a stunning QHD display, making it a dream for gamers. However, its hefty weight and loud fan noise could be deal-breakers for those seeking portability or a quieter experience. The minimalist design is a plus, but the matte chassis is prone to fingerprints and the keyboard's alignment may frustrate touch typists. While it excels in gaming, the short battery life limits its versatility, suggesting it's best suited for stationary use. If you're after uncompromised gaming power, the Omen 17 impresses, but it's not without significant caveats.

HP Omen 17 review: This gaming laptop stays cool under pressure | Mashable

mashable.com

The HP Omen 17 is a mixed bag—offering solid gaming performance with a powerful RTX 4070 GPU and impressive thermal management, but falling short in build quality and audio. While its minimalist design pleases, the plastic chassis feels cheap and the muted display could use a brightness boost. The keyboard lacks the responsive feedback gamers crave, and the speakers deliver below-average sound. Battery life is also underwhelming, especially for gaming. For those focused on performance and willing to invest in peripherals, it’s a decent choice, but it’s not without significant compromises.

Great Computer

I have been using this computer for the past 2 and a half years and it has been working great. Run's FL Studio really well and has no problem processing and supplying power my controllers while they are all plugged in. Great buy and (Price is lower now than when I first bought mine for $1100!) Snag it while you can.
