Excellent product

The Rig Kontrol 3 from Native Instruments is a foot controller that can be used to control nearly all of the GUITAR RIG 3 software sound parameters. Additionally, it features a 24-bit/192kHz USB 2.0 stereo audio interface and preamps that allows convenient connection of a bass, guitar or any other instrument with a computer, without the need for additional hardware.

The two inputs allow the use of two guitars or basses (or one of each) simultaneously, with monitoring available via a dedicated headphone socket. For more real-time access to other parameters, additional controllers and pedals may be connected to two dedicated inputs on the controller, as well as to the MIDI interface section.

Note: This item is for users that already possess GUITAR RIG software and wish to have hardware control of the software's parameters.

Nice preamp especially for the price

Pros: Extremely easy to setup which has balanced XLR / 1/4 jacks and needs an external power supply. Good voicing's and warmth added by the tube preamp. Cheap compared to anything else on the market.

No on/off switch Needs external power supply plugged in.

Cheap Great for adding some warth to recordings Excellent using as a DI for bass guitar

Recommended: Change the 12AX7 tube to something better, I changed to a Sovtek tube as you will notice a difference to the sound.

My fav pickup of all time

Seriously amazing rhythm pickup. I have it in neck position of my SG and it works great matched with a JB in the bridge. Its so nice and warm and clarity is amazing. I guess this would be really recommended to lots of Les Paul/ SG players.

Overall great pickup, slightly hot and can be shrilly if set to high up. If you get the right setup its a great pickup overall and can cut through. Its the most popular aftermarket pickup for a reason.

Lasting slinkyness

These are great quality strings, definitely extremely slinky being very light gauge and surprisingly last a decent amount of time. Never had a problem with these sets with breakages etc. For me raising my stop bar/tailpiece on my guitar created even more slinkyness for me! So I can literally bend like crazy with these now, very easy playing strings. Love them overall.

Amazingly valued guitar thats exceeded every expectation of mine

I picked up one of these 8 years ago and couldn't be more pleased as I was looking for a decent guitar on a budget. My Epiphone SG-400 was made from a Chinese factory and had a decent weight, nice chrome hardware and Grover tuners and average setup. Taking the time to setup the guitar and over time upgrade components was definitely the most rewarding.

I have since getting the guitar upgraded most of the original hardware since I have always loved the neck and weight and feeling from the solid body. Starting with upgrades, Putting in a Seymour Duncan set of 59 in the neck and JB in the bridge brought the guitar to an amazing new level of clarity. Stock pickups are decent but this was the best upgrade I made to the guitar. I changed the tailpiece to a faber (aluminium) and also put on a roller Wilkenson bridge. I have also redone all electronics (pots, capacitors, selector switch and jack to Gibson American standards and re-grounded the electrics cavity) which also added much value to the guitar. Last was adding locking Grover 502c tuners which improved tuning stability and topped off a solid feel.

I know from experience since I have had 2 of these exact same guitars, that the guitars vary greatly! Weight, setup and quality which goes for most guitars and manufactures. I have loved this SG from the start and have invested a lot back into it and have always been amazed at its performance and probably would never part with it.

TL/DR

Its a great value guitar, to all playing levels. With some patience and learning to give it a decent setup you can have a very playable guitar that sounds really good.

I love the thickness of this pedal

Problems being its charging port, its not the standard Boss 9v Its casing is easily scratched and its awkward square corners are annoying even though I appreciate the classic styling, but I cant deny its awesome versatile controls and tone. Seriously so many artists have used this pedal it speaks for itself.
