Hey there! I was just wondering, is it necessary to get a distortion pedal if your amp has a built in dirty tone switch (The Orange Crush 35rt, for example)? I like the dirty tone, I was just wondering if there was any real reason for me to get a distortion pedal or if I should just use that money on some other pedal type.

Have you checked out anything in the Orange Crush Series? I have played with the 35t and its great. I played the 20 a little bit and from what I played it was really good but I didn't play it as much. (I was at a music store.)

Hello! I have two questions about octave shifting.

1. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a cheap but good octave shifter. Nothing fancy and not a harmony, just plain ol' octave shifting.

2. Would an octave pedal work with an electric violin? Would it work or would it just completely mess up the tone?

This is my first Equipboard Forum post, so let me know if I have done something wrong and I will do my best to rectify it.
