Musician Brandyn Burnette who performs as EMAN8 and collaborated on the Devine Vocal Emanations release joined us at Splice Studios NYC once again. For this pack, he dove into the sounds of future soul while tapping his Jamaican roots for unique inspiration. With one foot in the past and the other in the future, Brandyn brought his silky falsetto and tenor, which lend themselves to pop and R&B perfection. He came up with riffs, melodies, hooks, and adlibs on the spot that have instantaneous hit-making quality and genre-bending potential.

From dreamlike textures to noise-bathed harmonies - Blur II features 113 deteriorated, degraded, analog processed chords, tones, and loops. Every sound was put through a hardware signal chain consisting of magnetic tape, vintage delay circuits, distortion, and analog filters for a magical combination of noise, saturation, and filth. This pack is particularly wide ranging in it’s timbres, featuring the many variations on the grit and grime one can tease out of these devices.

Blur II features one-shot chords for use in existing tracks or as starting points, and one-shot tones for use in any hardware or software sampler. There’s a folder of freeform loops featuring both melodies and textures perfect for chopping and dissecting. And finally, the pack features a folder of heavily processed melodic phrases. Analog synth tones, tape loops, noisy pedal feedback explorations, and expansive reverb pads are all included.

All of the sounds were recorded at 48kHz 24bit via UAD unison mic preamps and SSL gain staging, EQ, and compression. The sounds were mastered for maximum detail, EQ balance, and clarity. Chords and pitches are outlined in the filenames.

The story of Splice can't be told without a chapter about KSHMR. GOLD CLIP was painstakingly crafted for over three years by Grammy nominated & Platinum certified engineer Ryan Schwabe to emulate two of his favorite hardware mastering devices. Gold Clip uses cutting edge technology to create a versatile, high-precision clipping effect, a unique amplitude saturation effect called GOLD and high frequency contouring effect called ALCHEMY.

The demo below was created by producer 7skies to show what is possible when using Aoki's presets. We worked with legendary producer Steve Aoki to craft Serum presets representing his favorite sounds across the wide range of genres he's worked in. Aoki said that technically, it took him years to put this pack together because he produces in various genres from reggaeton to trance to EDM bangers and pop collabs. He wanted to share presets that Splice creators can use to cross-over between genres. He added, "this is a great pack for any producer in the dance world. Exploring it is an exciting process because when you jump into different genres from hip hop to Latin to K-pop, you're hearing all the different sounds and how it all works." Electronic dance music producer and award-winning DJ Steve Aoki built his brand around high energy live sets, high-profile remixes and collaborations, and his indie label, Dim Mak Records. His official debut album, Wonderland, received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2013, while subsequent releases remained a steady presence in the U.S. Dance chart Top Five, including a pair of chart-toppers with Neon Future, Vol. 1 (2014) and Neon Future, Vol. 3 (2018). He's collaborated with artists such as will.i.am, Afrojack, Linkin Park, Iggy Azalea, Lil Jon, blink-182, Laidback Luke, BTS, Monsta X, Rise Against, Vini Vici, Lauren Jauregui, and Fall Out Boy and is known for his remixes of artists such as Kid Cudi.

Nicky Romero is back on Splice, this time with a presets pack. Romero has progressed from being a young, musical wunderkind to one of the most influential artists of his time. As a DJ, producer, and founder whose label is at the forefront of modern electronic dance music, Romero is a force to be reckoned with. He's released iconic hits "Toulouse" and "I Could Be the One," to his recent "Sometimes" with DallasK & Xylo eas named the #1 US Dance Radio track in 2019.

Romero's resume boasts an impressive and lengthy discography of originals, remixes, edits, and co-productions, continuously showcasing his ability to evolve with the ever-changing landscape of electronic music. Perhaps, even more telling of his razor-sharp prowess and visionary mindset is the success and impact of his label Protocol Recordings, setting up recent collaborations with David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. And now his presets are yours to create with.

Best known as the producer behind five Taylor Swift studio albums, two time Album of the Year Grammy award winner Nathan Chapman is one of our decade’s top producing talents. A producer and songwriter working with musicians like Avicii, Kylie Minogue, Keith Urban, Lionel Richie, and Shania Twain, Chapman released his solo album Revival in 2015. In his debut Splice pack, Chapman brings his array of talents to bear with string instrument loops—guitar, bass, banjo, and mandolin—drum kicks, demos, and evocative vocal shots. The producer behind Swift’s Fearless and 1989, Chapman’s pack emphasizes instrumentals to bridge the purest pop and country sounds.

Colombian born producers Andres Torres and Mauricio Rengifo began producing together a few years ago, having crafted tracks for the likes of Morat and OneRepublic. But in 2017, they churned out their biggest hit - producing “Despacito,” the massive hit by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber. If producers were chefs, Andres and Mauricio are serving Michelin starred sounds.

Montell has had a very playful, rhythmic, quirky style that has influenced alot of producers over the past couple years. We are happy to have made this one happen for you guys. This pack features 170 unique samples curated by montell2099 & medasin. Sounds include bass & 808s, chord loops, kicks, percs, SFX, snares & claps, vocals, & foley recordings. As always, the primary goal of Overdose is to have an open source community of producers contributing content for other producers to continue their journey in learning, practicing, & staying inspired.
