Squire is kind of like the greasy diner of the guitar world. It's either awesome and cheap, or cheap and terrible. I got a good one, just remember that some of them really blow.
Mine also came loaded with a random Duncan designed bridge humbucker, so it sound a bit different than others.
The day I bought it I played about 30 guitars and it was the best playing out of all of them, which was pretty surprising in all honesty.
The amp has almost tube-like cleans, even if the distortion isn't awesome. Works really well with pedals however.
I bought mine new and the nut was atrocious, but the guitar sounds pretty great considering the price.
I sold off my main mandolin, but all things considered this one works pretty well for practicing around the house.
