I have avoided DS1 and bought this one with discounted price. It is perfect to play Black Sabbath, Metallica, Deep Purple and very versatile. It fits perfect with Boss SD-1 (my neiborhood doesn't like it :))
... but it hasn't it all. Not so strong as Marshall, but easy to control. I like it's look.
I spent one hour in the store to choose between famous MXR flanger (discounted 50%) and this one. I was sad cause I prefer Vortex. As times goes by I love it more and more. Easy to handle and to get good tone with perfect software support
... but when you find what you need it is limiting. Very good for playing Iron Maiden.
Good control, good sustain, nice look, everything I need. My final choice!
