I would only recommend this amp to blues and indie guitarist
If you have a good understanding of signal chains and frequencies the axe fx will do you wonders. If you dont know what your doing you may get fustrated with. Its great for recording and live use. Some people dont think its $2000 better than other affordable effects/processors (the pod hd500 and the boss gt 100 to be exact) but any real professional will tell you there is a noticeable difference in sound and feel.
Logic pro x arguably has the best stock plug-ins and virtual instruments. Alchemy (one of the best synth vst's I've used so far) alone would probably cost $200+ if it wasn't included in logic. If you're on a budget and need a great DAW with amazing stick plug-ins, vst's and sample library Logic Pro X is definitely the best way to go.
The AX8 is the same tone as the axe-fx ii with a quicker live setup. The tonal possibilities are pretty much infinite. If you're having trouble frinding a tone you like I suggest using third party Cab IR's .
Don't let "boutique" builders fool you. Fuzz pedals are some of the easiest and cheapest pedals to build and this pedal proves that.
