The MIDI LOOPER serves as the automated helping hand for the electric piano, synthesizer or accordion player. It helps to perform live sessions as well as to produce complex melodies.

To play accurately to the beat and to record a perfectly played note sequence is a challenge, not only for beginners but also for professionals. By using the MIDI Looper the musician can record a MIDI not sequence and quantize note patterns dynamically. The high polyphony allows complex melodic and tonal variations by parallel processing of MIDI note and controller data. By using an additional foot switch, the musician can entirely concentrate on playing the instrument with both hands.

The MIDI Looper works with MIDI data (notes, CCs, clock signals), NOT AUDIO, to allow for MIDI instruments to explore the creative/performative workflow of audio loopers (pedals, rack gear, etc) with the performance data of MIDI, rather than the resultant audio signal. This allows musicians to create loop based music with performance options not previously available with audio, such as true quantization, extensive overdub/undo history, and changing instrumentation/voicing of an already-captured performance. The MIDI Looper allowed 4 tracks of MIDI looping with separate lengths, quantization, editing, and history. It's simple 2-button, 2-knob interface allowed for deep, intuitive usage for jamming or other loop-based exploration.

The EventStation is a MIDI Velocity-processor: Using our 8-level format we can switch sounds, map, blend, scale, add, sequence them... and extend their durations... all from a single note. This is novel for a dedicated hardware controller, and most computer-based MIDI-mapping programs cannot do this to this degree. The EventStation Accepts a variety of input device types in a generalized format. The EventStation is a timing processor. There have also been a number of wonderful MIDI processors in the past that would re-assign incoming MIDI data to new data at the processor’s output. The EventStation takes advantage of its multifaceted input assignment structures to allow external MIDI devices to control the performance the same as the directly-connected hardware. As a Trigger-device the EventStation is optimized as a velocity-processor to give as much expression as possible to your playing. Velocity is used as a filter to trigger certain events and to adjust note-timing. Each of the EventStation’s 32 Inputs may be assigned to control groups of MIDI “Events” in a number of ways. Every effort has been made to “generalize” the User Interface so that, within the box, anything can be assigned to anything. The goal was to allow ultimate flexibility and above all, the ability to expand easily as new features present themselves.
