2:06 " So I asked them either if it was possible either to do a Hammer Drumstick in the nude finish or use a different type of drumstick that is already in the nude finish with the two butts, and they suggested the Morgan Rose Alien Freak sticks which of course, Morgan has always been a good dude, he's a great drummer, you know, one of my favourites of this time, and a good friend of ours (all the guys in Sevendust are amazing). So, I was just like 'why don't I try using Morgan's stick'. So, they sent me out a couple pairs one night, and I just loved it. I love these a little bit more than the Hammers because they're about the size of a 2B, (it's) a little bit thicker, and also, they have no lacquer, so the grip is a lot better you know, especially during the summertime festivals where it is really hot out (there), and we get really sweaty, we're playing, and we're hitting really hard. The natural finish is great for grip so I can really hold on to it. It doesn't slide out of my hands, and it's awesome you know. And I love it because it's thicker so I can hit a lot harder, you know my snare drum cracks, and my toms just punch through the mix and the PA. Everyone has been impressed by it, and I have been using these for probably 3 or 4 months now I guess, since the beginning of the year, and I just fell in love with them, they're great, and they're awesome cuz... also just one of my favourite drummers gets to play them too. So thank you Morgan Rose, and thank you Vater for giving me this awesome drumstick to play every night."

Before switching to Pearl, he was a Ludwig Artist Sizes: 26x16" Kick Drum 14x14" Rack Tom (normally he used a 14x10" rack tom) 16x16" Floor Tom 18x16" Floor Tom While on tour in Manchester, England 2012 1:38 "It's kinda funny about this kit, it's not mine. laughs This kit actually, we borrowed from our dear friends in the band Black Stone Cherry, our good friends from Kentucky. Great guys, hell of a band. John Fred (Young), their drummer, recently switched over from Ludwig Drums to DW drums. So they had this kit over here that they weren't using. So, they were gracious enough to let us use it while we were here."

3:35 "My first drum company that I was sponsored by was Ludwig. And, you know, growing up with John Bonham, and being a massive Led Zeppelin fan as a kid, that was like one of the things that made me want to play. So, when I got sponsored by Ludwig, the first thing that I wanted to get was the exact John Bonham set-up 14x26' Kick, 14' (rack tom), 16' (floor tom), 18' (floor tom), you know, the supraphonic snare, and all that, very simple set up, even a speed king pedal. I loved it, but unfortunately at the time, Ludwig had a hard time providing drum kits for us across the world, so I had no choice but to move to a more global company."
