"Own a part of video game history! This Roland (aka Edirol) SC-88 Pro was used to rough out much of the music I wrote for early computer games, including Doom, Duke Nukem, Rise of the Triad and many more.

The SC-88 Pro has all of the iconic sounds of the SC-55, and many more! It is compatible with all MIDI files composed on the SC-55 -- it has an SC-55 Map button. It was designed to be a complete orchestra/band in one unit, with numerous digital effects.

"Own a part of video game history! This SPX-90 was used to rough out much of the music I wrote for early computer games, including Commander Keen, Wolfenstein, Doom, Duke Nukem and many more.

This was probably the most used reverb of its era. It has 30 preset effects, allowing an additional 60 additional effects. The effects are iconic. I also used this unit when playing live on occasion.

"Own a part of video game history! This Proteus 2 was used in writing and arranging music for iconic computer games, including Commander Keen, Wolfenstein, Doom, Duke Nukem 3D and many more.

I love the sounds in this box. The instruments use samples of the "real" instruments. All samples are 16-bit. Polyphony is 32 voices which can be layered with up to 8 sounds on each key. The three stereo outputs can be configured as 6 polyphonic submixes, or they can be used as effect sends/returns (for a performance setup). It automatically switches itself for 110 or 220 volt operation.

"Over the years I have tried many DAWs. I was a user of Cakewalk from the very early days, so I pretty much stuck with it."

"Years ago, I tried Reaper. I don't actually remember much more than I tried it. Because of a recent recommendation from a friend that I try Reaper again, I did. Very soon, I saw the tremendous potential of this DAW. As with any new software, there is a learning curve, but there's plenty of help on the web to straighten the learning curve quite a bit."

"There are still folks out there who are trying to work with Voyetra Sequencer Plus Gold software. This is for those who still use SP Gold for whatever reason. It's especially for those who have old .sng files and want to work with them.

I use SP Gold for working with the few original native SP Gold files I have been able to locate on old data tapes/CD's.

I've lost (hopefully misplaced) the instrument bank files I created to use with SP Gold. I created them to be able to use melodic mode on the OPL2 FM synth chip found on early sound cards."
