"The first guitar I bought with my own money was an LTD Viper 50. I bought that with my own money, I got it for like $150 to $200 something like that. It was the first guitar I ever bought I was like, fuck, I was 20 years old maybe."
Ortiz mentions using the Viper 50 until about 2017, meaning it was used to record the first three Xibalba records, Madre Mia Gracias Por Los Dias, Hasta La Muerte and Tierra Y Libertad.

He tunes the guitar to A standard, using a seven string set of D'addario XLs (10-13-17-26-36-46-59), discarding the 10.
