Conway Twitty's Gear
In this YouTube clip from 1980 or 81, you can see Conway Twitty, along with lead guitarist Charlie Archer, playing the Peavey T-60 during Twitty's appearance on "That Good Ol' Nashville Music". From 1980 through 1986, Twitty and his band The Twitty Birds played on Peavey T-60s, as well as the Peavey T-40 Bass.
This early 1960’s Telecaster played by Twitty featured a custom black headstock, built exclusively for him. This guitar, can also be observed with Twitty during his Porter Wagoner show appearance (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyG2Z7Glbwg) in 1967.
According to Acoustic Guitar Magazine, this Martin OM-18 was sold for 30 USD in 1931, two years before Twitty was born. In 1975, Twitty sent the fourteen-fret Martin to master luthier Don Teeter for repairs and received a full overhaul by Gruhn guitars in 2001. According to retrofit vintage guitars (https://www.instagram.com/p/Cyy0qjruSpj/?img_index=1) the 1931 Martin was resold in 2023.
