Dave Harrington's Gear

Hide incorrect submissions

Dave Harrington uses a mid-2000s Gibson SG Standard, which he purchased from 30th Street Guitars in New York, a shop he frequented as a child. The guitar's headstock had been previously broken and repaired. Harrington modified the instrument by replacing the neck pickup with a Seymour Duncan model favored by Derek Trucks. He strings it with D’Addario NYXL .010s for their stretch and stability. This information was confirmed in an interview with Chris Kies for Premier Guitar's "Darkside's Dave Harrington Rig Rundown."

In a Premier Guitar Rig Rundown video, it is confirmed that Dave Harrington uses the Fender '65 Twin Reverb as part of his backline setup in Nashville. Harrington utilizes two of these reissue amps for their reliability and clean headroom, with each amp handling an individual signal, including loops that he creates and plays over, to reduce loss of definition and competition for frequency space.
