Emily Robison
Emily Robison's Gear
Emily had this custom Nechville Classic banjo built in 2003 by Tom Nechville and his crew. Emily nicknamed the banjo "Gus" after her first son. According to the Banjo Newsletter: The Gus includes a Texas bluebonnet on the peghead, and the state of Texas and a lariat running up and down the compound radiused fingerboard. The Corona Heli-Mount frame houses a 20 hole tone ring and Nechville’s Cyclotronic Ball Bearing system. The banjo also includes a mahogany neck and resonator and a radiused fingerboard.
Emily Robison has been using the Red Monkey Classic 2" Custom Shop Guitar Strap since the Fly Tour in 2000, evidencing over 25 years of continuous use with The Chicks. This strap has been integral to her performances, supporting a wide range of instruments during long, dynamic sets. A photo available here shows a custom white-and-black configuration of the strap, reflecting Red Monkey's ability to tailor their products to the artist's specific aesthetic and performance needs.
