Gotoh Masafumi has been using the Fender '65 Twin Reverb amplifier since the release of the third album, "Fanclub," primarily for his clean guitar tones. He often pairs it with a boost or overdrive pedal, such as the Superman FX Atlas III, to add a bit more crunch. This setup can be heard in performances of hits like "Solanin," "Ima Wo Ikite," and "Korogaru Iwa, Kimi ni Asa ga Furu." On Instagram, a post dated April 9, 2019, provides a glimpse of this amplifier in use.

Generally used alongside the Twin Reverb for his clean sound, the amp also provides a tremelo effect, as well as reverb which Goto uses at a low point for the "bounce" in his sound (around 1 to 2 in gauge)

Hidden at the back of Goto's rig during Ajikan's performances, Goto has been seen using this amp live since Magic Disk (potentially earlier but to be checked). The Supersonic is used primarily as his distortion amp, operated by a custom footswitch for songs such as Easter and Rewrite. He might use additional drive provided by an overdrive pedal for solos or heavier tracks.

Gotoh uses the BAD CAT 30R in the studio, first using it on ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION's eighth album "Wonder Future".

In interviews Gotoh said he liked to use the amp for a heavier, distorted sound, as an alternative to the Fender Vibro King or Fender Super-Sonic. (Both Fender amps are used in his live setup)
