In the documentary "The Making Of 'The Noble Art of Self Destruction'," created by Bethan Miller and Holding Absence, Lucas Woodland can be seen using the Shure SM7B microphone around the 35:44 mark. The same mic was used with a pop filter,by taking out the stock windscreen,surrounding the sm7 with the Aston windshield,to record vocals on " The Greatest Mistake Of My Life" album

Producer George Lever confirmed in a YouTube video that the Slate Digital ML-1 microphone was used for vocals by Lucas Woodland on the Holding Absence split EP with Loathe, "This Is As One," and the self-titled Holding Absence album. The Slate Digital ML-1 is known for capturing natural, clean vocal recordings and includes VMS software that allows for emulations of famous microphones, providing versatile recording possibilities.
