These are the hi-hats Matt used in his Madness of Matt lesson series on his YouTube channel. The descriptions of the videos state that he used the top cymbal of the Sand Hats and the top cymbal of the Byzance Traditional Hi-Hats (no mention of which particular kind), but this couldn't be confirmed from the video and it sounds like they are just Sand Hats.

In this video Matt talks about his artist concept fat stack. this stack is based off the stack that Matt had been using for years. The stack consists of a extra dry china and an extra dry crash. Both cymbals have several holes in them to add to the tone of the cymbals. According to matt, the cymbal sounds very stacato when fasened tightly. this makes the note very short. when fassened looser it sounds fater and will resonate more

In this video for Guitar Center, Matt shows off his signature Vic Firth sticks. He says that the sticks are a combination of vic firth's 55a and budy rich sticks. the stick is a bit thicker than the typical 55a sticks. The taper of he sticks allow for more choppig around the kit. The stick's tip allows for a greater attack on cymbals. This configuration of stick is perfect for the syle of drumming that Matt has.
