Positive Mental Trip's Amplifiers

Luke Weiler of Positive Mental Trip has been using the Vox AC-15 C1 amplifier with a Celestion Greenback speaker for live performances since 2011. Notably, he utilized this amp during the recording sessions for the 2012 album "Change Your Mind" at Applehead Recording Studios, where it was featured on most electric guitar parts except for the third track, which used Marshall stacks. The Vox AC-15 C1 was also Weiler's exclusive amp for the "Change Your Mind" tour from 2012 to 2014 and remained his choice for live shows until 2019. Although it was used for only one song on the 2017 "The Black and White Album," its future role in the band's third album is uncertain due to evolving recording techniques involving direct inputs and preamps.

Luke Weiler of Positive Mental Trip was known for playing a Crate Blue Voodoo 120 H 120 watt tube amp head through a Marshall cabinet during the PMT band era 2006-2007. In that era the band practiced many many times a week and played close to 100 concerts in a little over 2 years. All concerts were in NY state as the band did not travel far to play music in that time period. It is not known whether the Crate Blue Voodoo amp had been used in the studio. However the “walking museums of side effects” demo which is a prospect to be on the 2019 “Love Never Dies” album has the old school 06-07’ Tone to my ears. Definitely sounds like the crate Blue voodoo 120H was used on guitar on that track. Luke has never played through any cabinets but Marshall stacks and 1/2 stacks live or in the studio.

Luke Weiler of Positive Mental Trip uses a Tech21 Trademark 60 amplifier, his sole solid-state amp. Although it hasn't been used in live performances, it may feature on a few tracks of the 2019 album "Love Never Dies." If Luke opts for a two-amp stereo setup during live shows, the Tech21 Trademark 60 could complement his VOX AC15. This information is discussed in the YouTube video by PMTluke.

Luke Weiler of Positive Mental Trip used a Marshall 1960B when he recorded guitar tracks at applehead recording studios near Woodstock NY. Most of the electric guitar tracks luke’s VOX AC 15 was used but on Change Your Mind we hooked up 2 full 1/2 stacks of Marshall awesomeness and rocked those funky riffs with jazz colors. Luke continues to use Marshall cabs but has never used this specific marshall cab live.... yet.
