Vigilante Carlstroem

I attended The Hives show in London, England in April 13, 2024 and noticed Vigilante Carlstroem was using this guitar for a number of songs from the new “Death of Randy Fitzsimmons” album, reverting to his primary Epiphone Coronet for the songs from earlier albums.

Vigilante says his favorite studio amp is his ‘57 Tweed Bassman. I know this is the ‘59 reissue. Close enough.

Vigilante says they sometimes use a cranked Jazz Chorus for distorted tones. We’ll assume the 120.

This guitar was formerly owned by Vigilante Carlstroem the rhythm guitarist of The Hives. He bought it from Gibson and played it on tour for a couple of years. When he met Slash during a gig in Cologne he got it signed by him. It’s a 2007 (good-wood-year) Gibson Custom Shop 1957 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty Reissue with 3 pickups, classic all-mahogany construction with honest wear from stage use. The typical Slash “skull & bones/RNFNR” graphic and signature has been sealed with thin clear coat.
