Best in-ear headphones I've ever used
I bought these SOL Republic Amps HD to replace a pair of Sony in-ears that I loved so much and used for at least 5 years (different pairs obviously). These are easily 5 times better than the Sonys. SOL is a brand trusted by some of the best artists (Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Calvin Harris, and the godfather of hip hop DJ'ing - Grandmaster Flash), and you can tell that they put the same care into their in-ear drivers as they do with their higher-end over-ear headphones. The Amps HD come with their i6 drivers (the regular Amps come with the i4 drivers), their highest quality in-ear drivers. Add in a tangle-free cable (which so far is actually living up to that billing), 3-button mic/music/device compatibility and control, a 1-year warranty, AND FREE REPLACEMENT EAR TIPS FOR LIFE, these are definitely the best in-ear headphones for the money. I will definitely be looking into purchasing more SOL Republic products in the future.

so you export stems from Ableton and mix in Pro Tools?

Pretty much. But not every single time. I learned Pro Tools in my Recording BA program, so it's just very second nature for me. I'm getting better with Abelton though.

It's mostly just a "for now" method or final mixing sort of thing. I've worked with Pro Tools for a lot longer and I like it for pure mixing more than Ableton. I'm getting better with Live, but I'm still better with Pro Tools. Makes me wanna throw my computer a bit less than Live does sometimes haha

What are you thinking of upgrading to?

Something 88-key. Everything seems pretty similar though. I plan on getting a Maschine to up my beat-making abilities as well. I'm classically trained on piano, so 25 keys just feels limiting sometimes haha

Oh nice. I'm trained on piano as well, have a leftover 88-key Roland workstation that weighs a ton. I would get something like the M-Audio Keystation 88es.
