The center of my studio. Love the huge glossy display, minimal design, plenty of power. I doubled the ram in it, and have never had performance issues. My DAW is Logic Pro 9. I've thought about a Mac Pro instead, but there's really no need!
I used to think my Sennheiser HD280 were good studio headphones, until a friend showed me these. Made me realize there are studio headphones, and then there are STUDIO headphones! These are the latter.
Very very light and comfortable for extended sessions, excellent bass (full but not overly emphasized). They're pretty huge, might be a little goofy out in public, but I use 'em in the studio late at night :)
Have had this for years now, NEVER a problem (except when it got fried during a thunderstorm, but I sent it back to RME and they fixed it). Pristine sounds, no compatibility problems, very stable software, the list goes on. A little pricey, but I'd recommend RME products to anyone.
A must-have to isolate your studio monitors. The least anyone should do for whatever speakers you use to produce/mix/master/DJ!
Just needed a compact, solid (and preferably good-looking) midi keyboard to have on my desktop in the studio. This thing is great, has worked flawlessly, good action, great price.
I saw Dada Life using a Samson frequency analyzer, seemed very helpful to always have that in front of you so I decided to get the Behringer Ultracurve Pro. It does several cool things, but I only really use it as a frequency analyzer that's aways on.
Honestly if I could do it over I'd get an 88-key controller and use some piano VST. I got this several years back and it has served me well but I use mostly software synths now. Don't have much use for its stock sounds, other than when I just wanna play piano for a bit.
A great synth and a classic. Unfortunately it's mostly for looks in the studio, don't really use it much anymore.
Definitely my most used synth. Me and everyone else I'm pretty sure... Leads, basses, pads, plucks, stabs - Sylenth's sound quality is unmatched.
A very powerful synth, my go-to for big basses and big leads, and those iconic wubs and growls.
This synth flies under the radar a bit, but I love it. I've made some awesome leads on it. Was introduced to it when I saw John Dahlback uses it.
My favorite plugin for a realistic sounding piano, have used it in several tracks. Very CPU efficient, multiple piano modules. For more "house-y" sounding pianos however I turn to Nexus!
Best compressor plugin out there. Compression is a tricky thing for new producers to learn, and this plugin is very visual and intuitive - you actually SEE what it does to the waveform, helped me a ton. Awesome tutorial vids too.
My favorite distortion plugin, saw it used by John Dahlback and decided to give it a try.
Got tired of lugging around tube amps, plus I live in a building with other homes and can't really crank my amps to 11. I've been playing through guitar rig for years now and I love it, with a little toying around I can more or less replicate tones from all my favorite guitarists.
