Great analog synth

Classic Roland analog sound. Use live mainly for supplementary warm patches in keyboard rig but punchy basses as well. Easy to modify patches. Have KIWI 106 mod which is very worthwhile, and has a helpful computer editor.

LOVE the 106, alpha and mks50. Super-underrated synths!

Complex menus. Great sound flexibility

Broad sound palette, with good solo strings and swirling pads. Lots of editing capability but too much diving into menus. Ok in live use but I get best usage as a midi slave with patches preassigned and linked to Nord Stage 2 patches. Eg. EP on Nord with solo violin on Motif.

I can never get behind these all digital preset beasts with built in sequencers. No fun to program and I don't need all the features, plus the powerful features are not easily accessible on the fly. Even the Kurzweil K2000, my favorite in this genre, is a bear to deal with. Basically a sound design tool that kills creativity by taking too long to navigate.

Right on!!

Awesome

Good key action. Super for live use. Strong in organs and pianos. I midi with a Yahama Motif, which is stronger in strings and guitar. Love it!

Does this bad boy have all the Nord Electro electromechanical keyboard sounds, like a wurli electric piano, clavinet etc?

R

Haven't done an A/B with Electro. But more than happy with Stage on Clav and Wurli. Additionally, the Effects engine is easy and quick to navigate on the fly.
