Not as loud as you think
TC made their rep on studio gear, high quality, high price. This was an attempt to go affordable. (pre the Behringer buy out) Like Behringer amps the power rating is much higher than the actual volume output. Quite a sterile tone. Big heavy head for what it is. As modern amps go, this isnt a good one. Better bass amps out there.

Noisey!
I wanted one of these for years. When i got it i found it to be a disappointment. Really expensive for what it is. Terrible background noise, acceptable for the 90s, not so good now. Needs a modern update!

Bit bland?
Saw loads of reviews rate this pedal. I found it to be OK, but nothing that made me go 'Ooh'. Build quality was great but its a bit of a guitar shop pedal. Sounds good on its own, didnt find a good partner drive or boost for this. Got sold.

Avoid
Its not isolated. i had terrible trouble with this on fuzz pedals. Got a Fuel tank JR, much better.

Great Multi-Isolated PSU on a budget
For the money this is one of the best small isolated power supplies going. not quite a CIOCKs but about half the price. great for small boards. quiet.

Best on the isolated PSU on the market
Really rate this. Super quiet. Small and fits great under pedaltrains. Would like a DC 10. Reccomended.

Weird background noise
When these 1st came out i thought they were great. After longer use found it added weird digital noise to my signal chain. The mini tuner seems not to be as bad. Not a big fan of BOSS but get a TU-3. its better.

Didnt last long
Angry Charlie beats this hands down as a drive pedal. For me this was more like an expensive boost. Dispointed, sold it on quickly. Other JHS pedals are much better.

mini goat
Nice small drive, but didnt last long on my board. prefered the Saucy and Soul food. price of these has dropped so better value these days!

Sauce on everything
Big Box but dont let that put you off. Quite Klon like overdrive. Sounds like a more expensive pedal than it is. Works better with some other drives than others. Its a case of try out early and later in your effects chain.

Fave Marshall in a box
If you are looking to build a good cheese board of guitar tones, you would do well to have a look at the DLS. It is one of many 'Marshall in a box' pedals. What makes this for me is that its an easy pedal to get a good tone from. Controls are layed out like an amp. The gain interacts very much like a Marshall DSL which is good for me. Fairly common so they dont go for loads 2nd hand.

Every pedal board should have one
Very musical sounding boost. works well with other drives and fuzz pedals. cool split outputs. fairly small footprint. only draw back its its a right to left set up. can be hard to get on a small pedal board. I run mine in a loop rather than infront or behind my chain.

modern classic reissue
Modern re-issue of the classic. solves a few issues with true by pass and an LED on. different sound to the classic pedal. a little bit thin as drives go. but this pedal works very well with others. stacks with other drives really well. it the secret behind the 32 tens guitar sound mixed with a ZVEX super hard on.

it IS a lot thinner then my old one... sounds more like yngwie signature version from the 90s

Charlie gets more angry
Chunky Marshall drive sounds. Much more gain than the yellow Charlie. One of the better ODs ive owned. Only draw back is that JHS pedal tend to be slighly taller than most. This can make a bit harder to get on your pedal board. Having said tha JHS make very good quality pedals.

best of british, or they were back then.
Dont be fooled by the no frills look. Its a real solid beater. prices seem a bit mad these days. but well better than any modern low end Gibson in my opinion.

Wish they still made this
Im a big fan of the whole Cabronita thing. Unlike most guitar companies Fender try stuff at custom shop. I the people like it they make models at all price points. I like this bass as its very easy to play. Gretsch style pickup makes a nice change to the normal P split coils. its pretty simple looking, but thats its strength. less is more in this case.

if you havent got one of these put it on the list
Great for gigging, and great for the studio. Like a Fender but better. This amp does clean really well. It takes pedals the best of any of the amps i own. i love the reverb.

Double cut tele from the east
Didnt realise that these were so rare when i sold mine. so i tried to buy another one. Fenders made in Korea a future classics. Fender make a JA Jim Atkins model which is close to this.
