What’s on your pedalboard

never bothered getting an actual board, but the chain goes: proco rat, crybaby 535, boss tu2. as a further mention the crybaby 535 is some japanese exclusive thing its not the 535q, they actually sound pretty different the 535 has a bit more of a low end kinda sound to it

Looking for picks

ive tried the herdim ones before and the herco ones are my usual picks at the moment, both of them do that weird scrapy thing with the grit but if i remember correctly the herdim ones may go a little closer to the edge than the herco, but since the herdims are harder to get maybe give the hercos a try, i dont personally hold them sideways but i do really like them myself

5-string basses with tiny/vintage-height frets?

yeah, i had a friend whos more of a hobbyist work on it first and he got it vaguely functioning then took it to the local amp tech who biased it and rewired the impedence selector to work with the plug as it had been wired direct. theyre really awesome old amps!

5-string basses with tiny/vintage-height frets?

haha yeah maybe consider modifying their bass like the dude who plays in ash when theyre doing that... (for some reason he takes off the g string)

thanks about the sound city, its been a long project getting it to function!

What string gauges does everyone use?

ernie ball power slinkys on my p bass as that has to stay in c standard, i dont want to put too much tension on and 55-110 seems to be the thinnest i can use for c without it being too floppy and obnoxious.

i dont really play electric guitar much anymore but my sg has a 12s set (i think) its that or 13s maybe... it has a wound g, if i was tuning normal id just use 10s like a normal person. acoustic has the eric clapton set on which i really like so 12-54 on that but i used to like 11-52 rotosound jumbo kings so if i could have the clapton set in 11-52 id probably go for that but sadly it doesnt exist

5-string basses with tiny/vintage-height frets?

i guess having a high c would only fit in some very niche and specific type music, maybe something with no guitars. wouldnt going higher up the fretboard on a high c would start to steal guitar frequencies?

5-string basses with tiny/vintage-height frets?

im not sure about where you are but im sure theres builders that will do whatever you want, someone like john shuker will build you whatever you ask if youve got the money, if youre on a budget it might genuinely be cheaper to refret a more affordable 5 string
