Micropog Mini-Me

I own both this and the micropog. They sound nearly identical. The micropog is a lot bigger and has a dry output. If you are doing some more complex pedal routing, the micropog makes sense, but I would take this over the micropog as a standalone effect because of the size.

Industry Standard

It does the thing you need it to do. If you don't like what it does, you're doing it wrong.

Doesn't play well with active basses.

Kicking this on in a band setting pretty much makes you disappear from the mix.

This was my first pedal.

This thing is perfect to figure out what you like effectwise, but kind of useless in every other aspect.

Useable sounds: 1. Distortions are okay 2. "my first envelope filter" 3. "Phaser"

Unusable sounds: Everything else.

Major drawbacks: 1. The wah has a HUGE volume spike when you sweep it through the middle. 2. The synth's tracking is pretty much nonexistent. You have a choice of whole notes or halfnotes. 3. Octaver doesn't track well either.

tl:dr It's a decent pedalboard to start, but buy it used.

Powerful but be careful

I'd give it 5 stars but it had a lot of problems with a 4 ohm 210 I owned. It would shut down as the speakers heated up and blew the crossover. I learned my lesson and now I use it with an 8ohm gk neo 410 now and never have to turn it up past noon.

Isn't that great by itself.

A lot of the sounds are pretty much useless and out of control. I've found the best way to control this is to dial in very basic saw/square waves (no envelope movement) and use other pedals after it to alter it further. Try an octaver and an expression sweeping filter after it to get synthy.

Wet filter for bass.

I exclusively use modes 1 and 2. 1 is the classic envelope up sound. Quacking for days. 2 is followed by a fuzz a la Bootsy's "I'd Rather Be With You" solo. An overdrive in front of this pedal really brings out the wetness even more. 4 stars because the envelope filter sounds are pretty good, but the rest of the options are next to useless.

Main bass going on 4 years

It plays and sounds like a Ray. On the onboard eq I usually have mids maxed, bass set for the boominess of the room, and the treble for how much of a bite I'm looking for. I usually leave the treble between off and 55% depending on how much growl is required. My volume knob usually sits at 30-50% because anything above that makes all of my pedals go nuts. It's a solid bass and a good choice as an intermediate priced instrument.
