Kevin Daoust

Kevin Daoust is a guitarist, guitar educator and writer based in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. When not tracking guitars for artists around the world, or writing music-related articles around the internet, he can be seen on stage with Accordion-Funk legends Hey, Wow, the acoustic duo Chanté et Kev, as well as a hired gun guitarist around Quebec and Ontario. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Go-to guitar? Early 2000s Fender USA Telecaster.

First concert? A Beatlemania show when I was 9 or 10.

First started playing guitar? Back in 1989 when I was 9 years old (math is hard, so let’s just say it’s been a long time!)

Influences? The Beatles, John Petrucci, Brent Mason, François Lamoureux, Richie Blackmore, Jeff Beck, The Hellecasters, Alex Lifeson, John Scofield, Steve Morse, Johnny Gravel, Billy Gibbons, Tom Scholz (and I’m sure there are others I can add!)

Favorite bands? Number one is, was, and always will be The Beatles. The rest changes on a daily basis. I do have a wide listening interest; one day will be ABBA, the next will be Gojira.
