The group was founded by Eliot Sloan (vocals, songwriter) and Jeff Pence (guitar, songwriter), and later joined by C.P. Roth (keyboards) and Eddie Hedges (drums). Known for their blend of alternative rock and pop rock, the band achieved widespread popularity with their 1995 debut album Home, which featured the hit single "I Believe".
