About
Bow Wow Wow is an English band that emerged from the vibrant post-punk scene of the early 1980s, blending New Wave, punk, and dance rock into a unique sonic tapestry. Formed in 1980 under the guidance of controversial manager Malcolm McLaren, the group comprised of former members of Adam and the Ants: Matthew Ashman (guitar), David Barbarossa (drums), and Leigh Gorman (bass), along with the youthful and charismatic Annabella Lwin (vocals). Known for their energetic performances and provocative style, Bow Wow Wow captured the spirit of their era with hits like "Go Wild in the Country" and the iconic "I Want Candy."
How to Sound Like Bow Wow Wow
Bow Wow Wow's sound is characterized by wild, vibrant rhythms and catchy, rebellious melodies that invite listeners to dance and revolt simultaneously. Their music often features tribal drumming and driving bass lines, creating an infectious groove that is both primal and polished. The Gretsch G7593 White Falcon guitar, used by Matthew Ashman, adds a distinctive, jangly edge to their tracks, while the Music Man HD-130 2x12 Amplifier provides a rich, full-bodied tone.
