Classix Nouveaux is a pioneering English band that emerged from the new romantic movement in 1979. The group was initially formed by Sal Solo (vocals), Mik Sweeney (bass), BP Hurding (drums), and Jak Airport (guitar), although Airport was soon replaced by Gary Steadman. Known for their unique blend of new wave, synthpop, and dance rock, Classix Nouveaux distinguished themselves with a sound that combined guitar-driven melodies and stylish, danceable keyboards. The band gained recognition with hits like "Guilty" and "Is It a Dream," achieving notable success in Europe despite maintaining a cult status in the UK and the US.
