About
Depeche Mode is a seminal English electronic music band that emerged from the post-punk and new wave scene of the early 1980s. Formed in Basildon, England, the group originally consisted of Dave Gahan (vocals), Martin L. Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals, principal songwriter), Andy Fletcher (keyboards), and Vince Clarke (keyboards), with Clarke departing after their debut album. Over the years, Depeche Mode has been known for their exploration of genres such as synthpop, new wave, electronica, and alternative dance, evolving into a darker synth-rock sound that has influenced countless artists. Despite the passing of Andy Fletcher in 2022, the band remains active, continuing to impact the music world with their innovative approach to electronic music.
