The band initially formed under the name Beyond Control before recruiting Jeff Gutt and rebranding as Dry Cell. With a sound reminiscent of bands like Linkin Park and P.O.D., they gained early attention with their track "Body Crumbles," featured on the Queen of the Damned soundtrack, and released their studio album Disconnected in 2002.
