Dust was an American hard rock band that emerged in the late 1960s, known for their pioneering role in the development of proto-metal in the United States. Originating from Brooklyn, New York, the band was comprised of Richie Wise (vocals, guitar), Kenny Aaronson (bass, slide and steel guitars), and Marc Bell (drums), with Kenny Kerner serving as their lyricist, manager, and producer. Their sound was a powerful blend of blues rock, acid rock, and heavy psych, drawing inspiration from the British heavyweights of the era. Dust released two influential albums, Dust (1971) and Hard Attack (1972), before disbanding, leaving a lasting impact on the roots of American metal.

Dust’s music is characterized by its raw, energetic sound, blending aggressive guitar riffs and powerful drumming with a bluesy undertone.
