Massacra was a pioneering extreme metal band from Franconville, France, known for their intense fusion of thrash metal, death metal, and grindcore. Formed in 1986, the group played a crucial role in the evolution of the French metal scene. The lineup consisted of Pascal Jürgensen (vocals, bass), Fred Duval (vocals, guitar), Jean-Marc Tristani (guitar), and Chris Palengat (drums), with Matthias Limmer and later Björn Crugger joining on drums in their later years. Massacra's early work, such as their debut album Final Holocaust, showcased their ability to blend the raw aggression of thrash with the brutal complexity of death metal.
