Menomena Members, Gear & Sound

Menomena is an innovative indie rock and experimental band originating from Portland, Oregon. Initially formed by Justin Harris (bass, guitar, saxophone, vocals), Brent Knopf (keyboards, guitar, vocals), and Danny Seim (drums, vocals), they are known for their eclectic sound that seamlessly blends elements of indie rock and freak folk. The band gained attention for their unique approach to music production, utilizing a software program called Deeler, created by Knopf, to layer and manipulate their sounds. Following Knopf's departure to pursue his solo project, Ramona Falls, Harris and Seim continued Menomena as a duo, diving even deeper into their experimental roots.

Menomena's sound is characterized by its inventive, layered textures and dynamic shifts, creating a sonic landscape that is both melodic and rhythmically complex.
