About
Ugly Casanova is an indie rock project steeped in the mystique of the Pacific Northwest's music scene. Spearheaded by Isaac Brock, frontman of Modest Mouse, the group was conceived from the enigmatic writings of a fan known as Edgar Graham. Alongside Brock, the lineup includes Brian Deck and Tim Rutili (of Califone and Red Red Meat), Paul Jenkins (of The Black Heart Procession), and John Orth (of Holopaw). Their sound weaves elements of indie rock and stomp and holler, characterized by plaintive melodies and Brock's distinctive, raw vocals. Ugly Casanova's work, including their debut album Sharpen Your Teeth, echoes the alt-country nuances of Modest Mouse's early 2000s era.
