About
Reveille is an American band known for their fusion of alternative metal, rap metal, rap rock, and nu metal. Originating from Harvard, Massachusetts, the group comprises Drew Simollardes (vocals), Steve Miloszewski (guitar), Greg Sullivan (guitar), Carl Randolph (bass), and Justin Wilson (drums). They emerged from the remnants of previous projects and quickly garnered attention, leading to a record deal with Elektra Records. Their energetic sound and dynamic performances have positioned them as a notable act within their genre, especially with their debut album Laced.
How to Sound Like Reveille
Reveille's sound is characterized by its aggressive yet melodic approach, blending the raw energy of metal with the rhythmic intensity of hip-hop. To capture their style, musicians might focus on heavy, distorted guitar riffs paired with syncopated, groove-oriented rhythms. The guitars often utilize high-gain distortion and drop tunings to achieve a thick, powerful tone, while solid-state or tube amps can provide the necessary punch and clarity. The vocals alternate between rap-infused verses and powerful, melodic choruses, requiring dynamic vocal delivery. The rhythm section underscores this intensity with tight, punchy bass lines and hard-hitting drum patterns that maintain a driving, relentless momentum. Effects such as chorus and phaser may add texture, but the core of Reveille's sound lies in its seamless blend of metal and rap elements.
