About

The Arcs is a dynamic rock group formed by Dan Auerbach, known from The Black Keys, alongside talented musicians Leon Michels, Homer Steinweiss, Nick Movshon, and the late Richard Swift. Emerging from what began as a solo project for Auerbach, The Arcs blend elements of indie rock, garage rock, punk blues, and funk to create a modern rock sound with a bluesy edge. Their music resonates with the raw energy and spontaneity that comes from a collaboration of seasoned artists, resulting in a rich, multifaceted listening experience.

How to Sound Like The Arcs

The Arcs' sound is characterized by gritty, soulful grooves and a blend of both raw and polished elements. Their music often features vintage-inspired textures with a modern twist, leaning on warm, analog tones. The use of effects like the Roland RE-201 Space Echo by Richard Swift adds an organic, spacey feel to their tracks, while the Gibson Firebird Electric Guitar used by Nick Movshon contributes to their robust, punchy guitar lines. The rhythmic foundation, supported by strong bass work through the Ampeg SVT-810E 8x10 Bass Cabinet, creates a rhythmic depth that anchors their compositions. This blend of vintage warmth and modern rock sensibilities captures the essence of their eclectic yet cohesive sound.
