About

The Loved Ones are a Philadelphia-based punk rock band known for their energetic blend of alternative rock, punk rock, and pop punk, infused with elements of Americana and folk punk. Formed in late 2003, the group originally consisted of Dave Hause (vocals, guitar), Michael "Spider" Cotterman (bass), and Mike Sneeringer (drums). Over time, the lineup evolved to include Chris Gonzalez (bass) and David Walsh (guitar). Renowned for their polished punk sensibilities and singalong choruses, The Loved Ones have shared stages with punk stalwarts like Against Me!, Bad Religion, and NOFX, establishing themselves as a dynamic force in the punk scene.

How to Sound Like The Loved Ones

The Loved Ones' sound is characterized by raw, melodic guitar riffs and driving rhythms that capture the urgency and energy of punk rock. Their music often features gritty, distorted guitar tones, which can be achieved using high-gain amplifiers and overdrive pedals, providing a powerful yet melodic backdrop for Hause's raspy vocals. The bass lines are punchy and assertive, supporting the tightly-knit arrangements with a rhythmic foundation. Drums are energetic and propulsive, frequently employing fast-paced beats and dynamic fills to maintain the high-octane momentum. To emulate their sound, focus on blending aggressive guitar tones with melodic hooks, ensuring each element coalesces into a cohesive, spirited performance.
