The Primitives are a British indie pop band originating from Coventry, England, known for their catchy, melodic tunes that blend power pop, indie pop, noise pop, and jangle pop. Formed in mid-1985, the lineup consists of Tracy Tracy (vocals), whose charismatic presence added a dynamic flair to the group, Paul Court (guitar), and Tig Williams (drums). The band originally included Steve Dullaghan (bass), who was later replaced by Raph Moore. The Primitives gained significant attention with their 1988 debut album Lovely, featuring the hit song "Crash," which became emblematic of their energetic and hook-laden style.
