About
Treat is a Swedish hard rock band hailing from Stockholm, known for their melodic approach to glam metal and arena rock. Formed in 1981 under the name "The Boys," they adopted the moniker Treat in 1983 after signing with Mercury Records. The band originally consisted of Robert Ernlund (vocals), Anders Wikström (guitar), Leif Liljegren (guitar), Ken Siewertson (bass), and Leif Sundin (drums). They quickly gained popularity with hits like "Get You on the Run" and "World of Promises," drawing influence from iconic bands such as Kiss, Whitesnake, and Van Halen.
How to Sound Like Treat
Treat's sound is characterized by polished, anthemic guitar riffs and soaring, melodic vocals that define the glam metal and arena rock genres. Their music often features harmonized guitar leads and powerful, driving rhythms, crafted with overdriven tube amps to achieve a warm, yet punchy tone. The band utilizes layered vocal harmonies and anthemic choruses to create a grand, stadium-ready atmosphere. To emulate their sound, focus on crisp, articulate guitar tones with the use of distortion and chorus effects, complemented by dynamic drumming that adds energy without overshadowing the melodic elements. Treat's strategic use of reverb and delay enhances the expansive feel of their music, offering a balance between raw power and melodic finesse.
