About
Therion is a pioneering Swedish metal band known for seamlessly blending elements of symphonic metal, gothic metal, and neoclassical metal. Formed in 1988 by Christofer Johnsson, who remains the driving force behind the band, Therion's lineup has evolved over the years, featuring a diverse cast of musicians. Notable members include Thomas Vikström (vocals), Christian Vidal (guitar), and Nalle "Grizzly" Påhlsson (bass). Therion initially made their mark in the death metal scene with their debut album Of Darkness... but gradually incorporated orchestral elements and operatic vocals, setting them apart as innovators in the metal genre.
