Wax Poetic is a New York-based collective known for their eclectic fusion of electronic, downtempo, trip hop, and acid jazz. Founded in 1997 by the Turkish-born saxophonist and producer Ilhan Ersahin, the group emerged from the vibrant nightlife of the now-defunct club Save the Robots. Over the years, Wax Poetic has featured a revolving lineup of talented musicians, including the renowned singer Norah Jones, who contributed vocals and guitar. The ensemble is celebrated for its improvisational style, seamlessly blending elements of jazz and dance music into a captivating sonic tapestry.
