It's samples, bundled with UVI's player, but they are really really well done samples, as good as anything I've run across. Now, as samples you don't have all of the coolness of the originals (such as free running oscillators) but honestly I was surprised at how much I ended up using these sounds. Old school sound design programmers were a lot more limited and had a highly refined craft ... this is an easy way to preserve some of that legacy.

Ok, so this isn't 100% as awesome as a nord lead in terms of lushness of sound. But it gets 90% of the way there, for way less, and if you drop some saturation plugins on and such you'll get that sound you need. I was impressed with the amount of presets DiscoDSP includes with this.

Would give it 5 stars if it didn't require re-authorizing so often. This is one of the real standouts of the korg legacy collection. It really has that analog mojo in a VST!

Ok, you're probably familiar with plugins that align multi-mic setups for phase (such as multi-mic'd drums). Pi is a summing engine that, when dropped as the last plugin on every track, adjusts the phase of the audio so that maximum phase is achieved. There are clever grouping capabilities as well, such as "get all the drums aligned first, then match them with the rest of the mix." It makes a big difference on your final prints, especially when transients all hit at once, and helps avoids bass/drum phase cancellation issues. Pretty cool stuff.

MeldaProductions plugins have several definining characteristics: steep learning curve, amazing power and capabiities, a unique (but powerful) UI. MTotalBundle is really everything one could need for mixing and mastering. In particular, MDynamicsLimiter is a fantastic limiter, and MSpectralDynamics is a tool that has few alternatives.
