Bedrock Amplification was a boutique American tube amp maker founded in 1984 by Brad Jeter and Ron Pinto in Nashua, New Hampshire. Jay Abend and Evan Cantor joined the company in 1988, and after Jeter and Pinto departed in the early 1990s, operations moved to Framingham, Massachusetts, where the company continued until closing in 1997. It is often cited as one of the earliest boutique guitar amplifier builders.
The company's output was handwired and point-to-point constructed, with cabinets and electronics built in-house. Their catalog drew from classic British voicings — the 1200 and 1400 heads leaned on Marshall-style plexi and JCM circuits, while the 600 Series combos used a quad of EL84s in an AC-style topology. Models included the Lead 50 head and various 1x12 and 2x12 combos, typically running EL34 or EL84 output tubes.
Bedrock amps have become collectible on the used market, with surviving examples trading through Reverb and vintage dealers. Joe Perry of Aerosmith used Bedrock amps during the Pump-era tours, and Earl Slick has also been associated with the brand.
Bedrock Amplification has 4 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Guitar Amplifier Heads and Combo Guitar Amplifiers. Their gear is featured by 6 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock and Pop. Notable users include Renè van Barneveld, Joe Perry, and Glenn Danzig.
