Chicago Iron is a small, Chicago-based pedal maker that specializes in faithful reproductions of the 1970s Tycobrahe line of effects, whose trademark owner Kurt Stier founded the company. The outfit began in 1998 with reissues of the Tycobrahe Parapedal and Octavia circuits, building each unit by hand in the USA with blue steel enclosures and true-bypass switching.

The core catalog centers on a small group of vintage-accurate designs: the Octavia octave-up fuzz, the Octavian Plus (an octave-and-boost variant with a switch between '60s and '70s voicings and separate footswitches for the octave and overdrive sections), the Parachute Wah (a reproduction of the Tycobrahe Parapedal), and the Pedalflanger, based on what is often cited as the first flanger pedal built for guitar. The original Tycobrahe Octavia circuit has a long rock pedigree associated with players like Jimi Hendrix and Tony Iommi, and Chicago Iron's Octavia was reconstructed with input from members of the original Tycobrahe team using units vetted by the late César Diaz.

Chicago Iron operates as a boutique shop rather than a mass manufacturer, with limited production runs sold through its own site and select dealers such as Chicago Music Exchange and the secondary market on Reverb.
