Crook Custom Guitars is a West Virginia–based builder founded by luthier Bill Crook, who has been making guitars since 1997. Before launching the shop, Crook worked as an audio technician for acts including Frank Zappa and America, and that road experience shaped his approach to building — particularly around shielding and consistency under stage conditions. The company specializes in vintage-inspired Telecaster-style electric guitars known for their hand-finished necks, fretwork, and elaborate paintwork.

The brand is most closely associated with Brad Paisley, whose stage guitars have been built by Crook for decades, including the blue paisley Telecaster that appeared in Paisley's 2002 "I'm Gonna Miss Her" video. Crook has become particularly recognized for his paisley finishes — blue, pink, and gold variants among them — as well as metal flake and other custom one-off treatments. The shop also builds B-bender and other modified Tele configurations.

While Telecaster-style instruments are the core of the catalog, Crook builds for a range of touring and studio professionals as well as private buyers, and maintains an active owners' community around the brand. The guitars are typically commissioned directly through the shop rather than sold through traditional retail channels.
