Hungry Robot Pedals is a boutique effects pedal and synthesizer module company founded by Eric Junge in 2012. Junge, who holds a degree in physics and previously worked as a science teacher, began building pedals as a side project before transitioning to full-time production around 2014. The company started in Iowa, spent several years based in North Carolina's Great Smoky Mountains region, and later relocated back to Iowa. Early pedals featured hand-painted enclosure artwork by Junge's wife, which were eventually converted to screen-printed designs as demand grew.

The company is best known for its ambient and time-based effects, including The Wash (a delay/reverb combination that replaces multiple pedals in a single enclosure), the Wardenclyffe (a lo-fi ambient modulator named after Tesla's experimental tower), The Moby Dick delay, the Stargazer ambient reverb, The Monastery polyphonic octaver, and the Wallflower all-in-one shoegaze multi-effects pedal. Other notable designs include the Karman Line (a joystick-controlled delay and modulation device), the Starlite modulated reverb, and El Castillo arpeggiating reverb.

In 2018, Junge expanded into the synthesizer world with Hungry Robot Modular, a line of eurorack-style synth modules built in pedal-format enclosures that run on standard 9V power. The modular lineup includes oscillators, filters, envelope generators, LFOs, and utility modules. Junge also operates Artium Instruments as a separate brand for additional synth-focused explorations. Despite growing demand, Hungry Robot has remained a deliberately small, hands-on operation.
