Founded in 2010 by Henry Widjaja, a Boston University-trained electrical engineer who left his university lecturing career to build guitar pedals full-time, GFI System is a boutique effects pedal company based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The brand started with the Bluescaster, a modified Tube Screamer-style overdrive, before pivoting to DSP-based digital effects that have earned it a reputation as one of Asia's leading pedal builders. Yonas Darja and Jesse Darja joined the team in 2016 to handle management and marketing, and GFI System made its first NAMM appearance that same year.

GFI System is best known for its reverb and delay pedals. The Specular Reverb and Specular Tempus became fan favorites for their lush shimmer algorithms and deep preset capabilities. The lineup has since evolved to include the Skylar Reverb, Orca Delay, and the flagship Solis Ventus dual-engine delay and reverb unit. Beyond time-based effects, GFI System offers the Synesthesia multi-modulation pedal, the Enieqma parametric EQ, the Rossie dynamic multi-filter, and the Cabzeus cabinet simulator and DI box. Nearly all components are imported from Taiwan, China, and the United States, with enclosures manufactured in Taiwan.
